Foreign jobs planned for former Thai inmates

Foreign jobs

The Justice and Labor ministries are considering sending former inmates with good behavior to work in foreign countries where they can earn more income, the Thai-language daily Thai Rath reported yesterday (July 5, 2020).

Justice Ministry Secretary-General Wisit Wisitsora-at has discussed the issue with Labour Ministry Secretary-General Jarin Jakkapak.

If everything goes as planned, foreign inmates with good behaviour will be selected to teach English to former Thai inmates before they are sent abroad.

“There are more than 2,000 foreign inmates in Thailand, and it is not difficult to find inmates who can teach,” said Mr Jarin.
