A female doctor at Mongkut Wattana Hospital in Bangkok was fired last night (17 Oct 2020) for criticizing the government’s break-up of pro-democracy demonstrators on the night of 16 Oct 2020, the Thai-language daily Khao Sod reported today.
The hospital director, Pol Maj-Gen Rianthong Naenna, said the hospital had a clear policy not to work with co-workers who are sympathetic to “enemies.”
The female doctor, Jarotdao Rimpanichanakit, was one of 386 doctors who opposed the break-up of the demonstrators.
