The third quarter will see the launch of the new product.
At the Arabian Travel Market in Dubai, Etihad Airways unveiled new seats for its Boeing 787 Dreamliners. When the carrier anticipates receiving three Dreamliners in the third quarter of this year, the new seats will make their debut.
Etihad is serious.
This week, from May 1–4, Dubai will host the Arabian Travel Market, where Etihad Airways will present a number of goods. The airline today introduced new seats for its Boeing 787s, which will go on sale in Q3. The Elements seat from Collins was chosen by Eithad for its business class, making it the first airline in the world to do so. The airline made changes to the seat, making the suite taller than it was when it first appeared on the Airbus A350.
In addition to a huge technological improvement, Etihad’s in-flight entertainment system is receiving important updates. New Rave Ultra 4K inflight entertainment screens will be installed in the business class cabins of the Dreamliners. The new IFE screens have Bluetooth connectivity, which is quickly becoming the norm for modern IFE, as well as the ability to couple phones and tablets and use them as remote controls.
“The interior of Etihad’s new 787 Dreamliner cabin displays additional improvements to our award-winning and well-known cabins. With the second iteration of the Business Studio, which was introduced on the Airbus A350-1000 last year, our new Business class elevates the traveler experience to new heights. Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways, Antonoaldo Neves.
Not all technology is being updated, including IFE. Etihad has chosen new Wi-Fi hardware from Viasat that offers high speeds, is capable of streaming in flight, and enables the airline to deliver live video. This equipment employs Ka band technology. Onboard WiFi is already offered in a variety of packages, including free chat subscriptions that enable users to stay connected to the most widely used messaging services like WhatsApp, Messenger, and more. There is an option to buy more packages.
With the help of its partnership with Armani Casa, Etihad made a significant announcement in October about its soft items in business class. Etihad and Armani have dubbed the new beds, cutlery, china, and glasses the “Constellation Collection.” The new goods have reportedly been introduced in business class on all of Etihad’s aircraft.
putting sustainability first
Etihad has announced that it would stop using single-use plastics for inflight food in economy cabins as part of its ongoing commitment to sustainability. Every piece of equipment has been created to maximize passenger comfort while also maintaining crew productivity.New chairs have also been chosen for the economy cabin; they are lighter than the existing seats and will increase the aircraft’s fuel efficiency. Additionally, new 4K touchscreens will be installed. Neves continued,
“We are happy to present our industry-leading experiences for our guests here at the Arabian Travel Market, and we remain fully dedicated to doing so. Etihad is focused on growth this year. In addition to improving the travel experience for our guests and expanding our fleet, we’ve also announced new routes for our network, including Kolkata last month, Lisbon, Malaga, and Mykonos this summer, and Copenhagen and Dusseldorf in the fourth quarter.
