Escaped prisoner taken back to Pattaya Court jail, American Embassy involved in medical situation with Bart Helmus, who is braindead officials say

An escaped prisoner was taken back to the Pattaya Provincial Court jail this afternoon.

A team of the Pattaya City Police led by Lt Col Somboon Ueasamanmaitree took the male escaped prisoner Noi ‘Ton’ Nintet back to the Pattaya Provincial Court jail from where he was captured in Sa Kaeo, only a few kilometers from the border to Cambodia. He surrendered himself peacefully to police on Wednesday at the urging of his family.

Another two escaped prisoners are Mr. Bart Allen Helmus, 39, an American citizen, who officials said is braindead and on life support, and his wife Sirinapa Wisetrit, 31 -year-old has sustained minor injuries.

The American Embassy in Thailand is being contacted in regards to the next steps to be taken with Mr. Helmus who is clinically and legally dead and has been so since he shot himself Wednesday afternoon as police closed in.
