Early this morning, a Thai woman who looked to be under the influence of alcohol, according to police, caused a serious car crash on Jomtien Beach Road. Approximately 2:30 am today, a tumultuous scene occurred in front of Soi 8, resulting in seven seriously damaged cars that obstructed traffic flow. The local police and emergency services were quickly called in.The 43-year-old driver of a Toyota Vios sedan with Bangkok licence plates. Identifying her as Surapha, the police did not provide her last name since they were still investigating.
Surapha appeared to be inebriated and had obvious head injuries, according to observations gathered at the site. The Pattaya police moved swiftly to remove the damaged cars and clear the road. Five sedans and two pickup trucks were involved in the collision. The level of each car’s damage varied. Surapha was the only person reported injured in spite of the accident’s severity.
