According to local police, a crocodile farmer in northern Cambodia was mauled to death by roughly 40 of the reptiles after stumbling into their enclosure.
According to authorities, 72-year-old Luan Nam was attempting to remove an egg-laying mammal from its cage when the animal seized his stick and drew him in.
“Other crocodiles pounced, attacking him until he was dead,” police head Mey Savry said, according to the AFP news agency.
On Friday, the incident took place close to Siem Reap.
According to Mr. Savry, Mr. Nam’s body was covered in bite marks and one of his arms was missing.
The fatality was the association’s president, a local farmer who raises crocodiles.
At a comparable farm in the region in 2019, a two-year-old daughter was killed and devoured by crocodiles nearby the renowned Angkor Wat temple.
In the country of southeast Asia, the animals are raised for their meat, skin, and eggs.
