A Chinese man who was intoxicated caused chaos by stopping the First Pacific Hotel in Pattaya in its tracks. He appeared as though he could jump to his death from his dangerous position on the balcony of the third level.
The 22-year-old man was upset and claimed that a cab driver had taken his cell phone. After further investigation, the police discovered that Li Mingming, a Chinese male, had merely left his phone in the taxi.
Li once hung precariously from the edge of the balcony while pleading for assistance with his fingertips. Police came on the situation quickly and saved him using a mobile aerial work platform. However, in an unexpected change of events, Li was able to scramble to another balcony and escape capture.
A tour guide from Li’s group moved up to offer assistance with translation as the cops attempted to reason with Li. Li had vanished after having a significant amount of alcohol during lunch, the tour guide explained.
According to Li, he was certain that the cabbie was to blame for his phone being missing. He issued threats to assure the restoration of his phone and vehemently refused to leave the balcony until it restored.
Quickly locating the problematic taxi, Pattaya Tourist Police questioned the driver. They were shocked to hear the driver explain that Li had been so inebriated during the trip that she had even managed to exit the moving cab through the window. The driver also found Li’s lost phone, which had fallen out of his pocket during the chaotic ordeal.
He grudgingly consented to give up his elevated vantage point and come down from the balcony when the cops gave Li’s phone back. He was taken back to his hotel by police so he could rest and gather himself.
The tour guide told the police more information, which led to the discovery of additional details. It was made known that Li had traveled to Thailand on May 27 with his girlfriend and other members of the tour group. They left Bangkok and traveled to Pattaya.
Li found himself in a violent quarrel with his girlfriend in their eighth-floor hotel room while ingesting huge amounts of booze. He was in such mental agony that he went to the balcony on the fourth story, not realizing it was closed for maintenance. Until a watchful hotel security guard noticed him, his desperate action remained unreported.
According to some, the voyage of love is a beautiful collection of poetry that explores a variety of deeply felt topics, including intimacy, romance, and commitment, to mention a few. But in this instance, it showed up as inebriation, obstinacy, and petulance.
