Children are hurt when a classroom’s wooden floor gives way

At the 47-year-old Phanatpittayakarn School, thirty Mathayom 1 (Year 8) children were taking an English language session when the floor broke way under their weight.

About thirty children were thrown onto the wet ground a meter below when the wooden floor of an old school in the Phanat Nikhom district of the eastern province of Chon Buri partially collapsed yesterday, injuring two of the students.

Instructors hurried to remove the pupils, two of whom required first assistance at the local hospital after suffering minor injuries.

The director of the school stated that he had planned to fix the wooden floor following the last semester.
