On March 19, at 10:40 a.m., Police Major Sergeant Sutthida Saengchai, an investigating officer at Phutthamonthon Police Station, Nakhon Pathom Province, received a report of an incident at the construction of a large canal door at Ban Khlong Yoong Village 6, Tambon Khlong Yoong, Amphoe Phutthamonthon, Nakhon Pathom Province. During the incident, while pouring concrete for a door structure to drain water at Nara Phiramy Canal, three construction workers were injured due to the collapse of the structure.
They were then sent to Phutthamonthon Hospital and the Kanjanaphisek Medical Center in Nakhon Pathom. Subsequently, Police Major General Sritthikajon Janthaduang, Superintendent of Phutthamonthon Police Station, conducted an investigation at the scene.
The incident occurred during the construction of a large door structure, and all the injured individuals were already taken to the hospital before the authorities arrived. It was found that among the 11 concrete workers at the site, three were injured in the incident. It was reported that during the pouring of concrete, a second truck carrying the concrete experienced a collapse, causing injuries to the construction workers.
The injured workers were identified as Mr. Sritai Thepchantaa, 54 years old, Mr. Arthapol Somnuk, 56 years old, and Mr. Narong Sutthakan, 54 years old. They were engulfed in liquid concrete at the site of the incident.
Preliminarily, it is suspected that during the concrete pouring process, the area where the workers who were responsible for receiving the concrete loads may not have been able to handle the weight of the poured concrete, causing it to collapse on the workers beneath. Fortunately, there were no fatalities during the incident. Moving forward, engineering assessment will be conducted to determine the cause of the incident, including any negligence that led to the incident, and accusations will be made if any misconduct led to injuries to others in the future.”
