On Labor Day, a motorcyclist perished in a collision with a tour bus carrying Chinese visitors.
When paramedics arrived on Thepprasit Road at around 10 p.m., the Honda PCX was still pinned in the front of the Khun Anan & K-Man Service Co. bus piloted by Direk Jaikusol, 40. Witsanu Kanngam, 28, was found dead nearby.
While Kanngam was traveling the other way, Direk claimed to be heading toward the beach. The bus took the winding street where the accident happened since it was a detour. There was no way not to run straight into him.
Police took pictures of the area and found over 100-meter-long skid and collision marks. The deceased was taken to Banglamung Hospital, and police will check CCTV footage to get more details about the incident. There have apparently been numerous incidents that have resulted in significant injuries and fatalities along the diversion created by local road construction.
