A British national, Jamie Louis Swain, 29, was apprehended at Phuket airport on Thursday when immigration officers discovered a small quantity of cocaine concealed inside his passport. According to police reports on Friday, a sachet containing 0.42 grams of cocaine was found within Swain’s passport at the inbound passenger terminal at approximately 7 pm.

The arrest occurred subsequent to an immigration officer examining Swain’s passport at a designated counter. Upon inspection, the officer uncovered a plastic sachet containing a suspicious substance. Swain appeared visibly surprised by the discovery. The substance was subsequently subjected to testing, confirming it to be cocaine, classified as a category 2 narcotic drug.

Following the discovery, Mr. Swain was transferred to Sakhu police station to undergo further legal proceedings.
