Bangkok design week all ready to go
This weekend, Bangkok will hold its first design festival across the Sukhumvit and Charoenkrung areas, where you can gallery hop, listen to artists’ talks, and shop for unique stuff you don’t really need.
Following last year’s Chiang Mai Design Week, the festival has moved to Bangkok this year to promote the creative industry in the capital.
Some of the highlights are the Creative & Design Market at the Grand Postal Office, which features more than 100 young designer-owned fashion and lifestyle products with food and beverage stalls offering a wide array of creative menus.
Workshops, from pottery making to robot designing and flower box arranging are available across town.
For music, there are two main stages at the Grand Postal Building and Warehouse 30, a hip bar on Charoenkrung 30. The festival features some of the best local talents such as Gene Kasidit, Polycat, and Stylish Nonsense.
Creative tours, including one that will discuss Charoenkrung history, are also available. Registration is required.
Bangkok Design Week runs from Jan. 27 – Feb. 4. Check their website for the full schedule.
