A growing issue is endangering the tranquility of Pattaya’s Jomtien Beach, which is well-known for its serene coastal beauty. Concerns increased on October 19 after both domestic and foreign tourists reported noisy beach parties that continued into the early hours of the morning.
The regular sounds of birdsong and waves were replaced at morning by the commotion of raucous crowds. Young people were reportedly drinking and partying loudly on the beaches, which created an undesirable routine that lasted from the evening till the morning. Participants in the disturbing circumstance brazenly defecate in public while disregarding other beachgoers wanting a calm experience by the shore and other tourists.
While visiting Jomtien Beach, both Thai and foreign tourists who were hoping for a peaceful morning meet disturbances from drunk people and rowdy crowds. By renting out Bluetooth speakers and providing chair rental services, beachside vendors further the problem. Some sellers appear to be avoiding law enforcement interference by openly selling alcoholic beverages.
Jomtien Beach has developed into a hotspot for rowdy gatherings, in contrast to nearby Bangsaen Beach where officials actively discourage gatherings and alcohol usage. At Jomtien Beach, law enforcement frequently reacts reactively to specific complaints, which irritates beachgoers. Locals and visitors are becoming increasingly concerned that these incidents could become violent. To maintain Jomtien Beach’s reputation as a tranquil, secure location, calls are made for more police presence and stiffer rules.
