AirAsia Malaysia (AK) has announced the resumption of services between Kuala Lumpur and Pattaya, Thailand, with three weekly flights starting from 17 June 2024.
Reintroducing the route to Pattaya (U-Tapao) signifies the airline’s ninth direct connection to Thailand from Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Penang post-pandemic, following Bangkok (Don Mueang International Airport), Bangkok (Suvarnabhumi Airport), Krabi, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Hat Yai. As the eighth largest city in Thailand, Pattaya is a renowned destination for both local and international tourists. In 2019, AirAsia transported over 60,000 passengers between Kuala Lumpur and Pattaya.
AirAsia Aviation Group CEO Bo Lingam commented, “We’re delighted to recommence services to the East Coast of the Gulf of Thailand, offering the sole direct link from Kuala Lumpur to the city. This expansion of our extensive network in Thailand affirms our ongoing dedication to enhancing accessibility to destinations like Pattaya. With around 2.7 million travelers journeying from Malaysia to Thailand in 2023, we anticipate that reviving this popular route will bolster travel to and from Thailand this year.”
In celebration of the return of flights to Pattaya (U-Tapao), the airline is offering one-way fares starting at MYR99 from Kuala Lumpur and THB990* all-in one-way from Pattaya to Kuala Lumpur. These special fares can be booked on airasia.com and the AirAsia MOVE app (formerly airasia Superapp) until 24 March for travel between 17 June 2024 and 16 June 2025.
