Tragic Accident Near Pattaya: Nurses’ Heroic Effort to Save 63-Year-Old Motorcyclist
PATTAYA, Thailand – A tragic accident on Highway 36 in the Pong area of Banglamung, East Pattaya, claimed the life of a 63-year-old motorcyclist after a collision with a 10-wheel trailer on March 16. Despite the heroic efforts of three passing nurses, the victim could not be saved.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a severe crash. Upon arrival, they discovered a white Isuzu Rocky 10-wheel trailer with damage to its rear and a Honda Wave 110i motorcycle lying nearby. The rider, identified as Adul Wongyod, was found unconscious on the ground.
Three female tourists, who happened to be passing by, immediately stopped to provide assistance. They were nurses from Somdej Rajthevi Hospital in Sriracha and quickly assessed the victim’s condition. Finding no pulse, they began performing CPR for over 20 minutes, working tirelessly alongside rescue personnel. Sadly, their efforts were unsuccessful, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The nurses later explained that they were returning from a trip to Rayong when they witnessed the accident and instinctively rushed to help. Despite their professional expertise and immediate response, the victim’s injuries proved fatal.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the accident, reviewing CCTV footage to determine the cause. The truck driver has been detained for questioning as police work to establish the details and ensure a fair resolution for all parties involved.
