The critically acclaimed crime thriller Gangs of London is back for its third season, having first premiered in 2020. Cast members Sope Dirisu, Richard Dormer, and Andrew Koji recently spoke to Sky News about what viewers can anticipate.
Known for its intense violence, Gangs of London follows undercover police officer Elliott Carter, portrayed by Sope Dirisu, who infiltrates the powerful Wallace family within a high-level criminal organization. In this new season, familiar faces return while fresh villains emerge as the struggle for control in the criminal underworld intensifies.

“Every year we’re trying to push the boundaries further,” Dirisu told Sky News.
The London-born actor describes Elliott as a character whose life is turned upside down when tragedy strikes his family. This season delves deeper into Elliott’s backstory as he takes on a new role within the criminal factions. “The audience response has been incredible, and not every show gets a third season, so we truly appreciate that,” he added.
Set in a reimagined version of London, reminiscent of Gotham from the Batman universe, Season 3 introduces new characters joining the existing chaos. Richard Dormer, known for his role in Game of Thrones, plays Cornelius Quinn, related to the formidable Marian Wallace, and he expressed his awe at the series’ technical execution. “I watched the second episode of the first season with a sense of wonder; it was brilliantly done,” he stated.
While he enjoys being part of the series, Dormer admitted that the violent scenes aren’t his personal preference, though he acknowledged their technical brilliance. “It’s thrilling because it’s so exaggerated that you can enjoy it without thinking it’s real,” he explained.
Andrew Koji takes on the role of a mysterious assassin in the upcoming episodes, noting the distinctiveness of his character’s appearance. Reflecting on his extensive experience in mixed martial arts, Koji expressed excitement about the show’s unique blend of high-stakes action and family drama. “This mix of action with a stylized version of London is captivating and different. I jumped at the chance to be part of it.”
All eight episodes of Gangs of London Season 3 will be available as a box set on Sky Atlantic and the streaming service NOW starting March 20.
