A pickup truck, allegedly driven by an intoxicated Chinese man, crashed into a home decor store in Pattaya early this morning, resulting in extensive damage. The driver claimed he swerved to avoid a motorbike that was traveling against traffic just before the accident.
Pattaya police were alerted to the crash on Sukhumvit Road near Thepprasit Intersection. Officers quickly coordinated with rescue workers from the Sawang Boriboon Foundation and rushed to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found a white Ford Ranger pickup truck embedded in a roadside home decor store, with significant damage to the shop’s windows and interior. The truck also sideswiped a bronze Mercedes-Benz, damaging its right side. The shop owner reported that the Chinese driver claimed he swerved to avoid a motorcycle rider who was driving against traffic. Pattaya police are currently verifying this account by reviewing CCTV footage.
