Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksira Pheukam, Commander of the Tourist Police Bureau, announced that all tourist police units are being mobilized in preparation for the upcoming tourist high season. The primary goal is to ensure the safety of tourists and their property, while also boosting confidence in Thailand’s tourism industry.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksira has tasked Pol. Col. Man Rotthong, Superintendent of Division 2 of the Tourist Police Bureau 1, and Pol. Maj. Col. Kritporn Saengsura, Inspector of Division 2, with leading meetings and coordinating investigative teams to implement comprehensive readiness plans for the high season. This initiative emphasizes collaboration between government and private sector agencies to enhance tourist safety and confidence.
Special attention will be directed toward cracking down on illegal activities, particularly those in violation of the Tourism Business and Guide Act of 2008, such as unauthorized tour operators and unlicensed tour guides. Strict orders have also been issued prohibiting police officers from engaging in corruption or illicit activities, while fostering unity and dedication among officers in their commitment to protecting tourists.
