Throat Slashed in Pattaya
A Laotian woman was found dead with her throat slashed in a condominium in Pattaya ,Police discovered several illegal drugs in the room and have questioned the victim’s Chinese boyfriend.

The victim, 28-year-old Ms. Phai Manee, also known as Nong Namfon, was found in a pool of blood in the bathroom of a 5th-floor condominium on Soi Baan Neon Rotfai, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Her throat had been deeply slashed, and she was dressed in a black T-shirt and shorts. A large kitchen knife was found in her right hand, and a sharp fruit knife was found in the sink. Bloodstains and large bloody footprints were observed outside the bathroom, and a cat was also found in the room. Pattaya Police believe the victim had been dead for at least 12 hours.

A friend of the victim, identified only as Ms. Nong (real name withheld upon request), said she received a call from the victim’s sister around 2:00 PM that day, saying she couldn’t reach her sister. When Ms. Nong arrived at the condominium, she found the door locked from the inside. The victim’s boyfriend, 42-year-old Mr. Chang Zhi, was also unable to enter the room. He claimed the victim had kicked him out and that he hadn’t been able to enter since. Concerned, Ms. Nong contacted building security, who hired a locksmith to unlock the door. Upon entering, Mr. Zhi discovered the victim’s body in the bathroom and fled in shock. He later informed Ms. Nong of her death.

Mr. Zhi initially fled the scene but was later contacted by Pattaya Police for questioning. He explained that he had fled because his visa had expired and he feared arrest for overstaying. He was subsequently charged with overstaying.

Regarding his relationship with the victim, Mr. Zhi said they had been together for about three years. On the evening of August 7th, around 7:00 PM, the victim returned home intoxicated, shouting that “ghosts were coming to kill her” and allegedly kicked him out of the room. When Mr. Zhi left, she locked the door behind him. Despite knocking, she did not let him back in. Mr. Zhi then went to stay at a friend’s house and returned the next day to find her body.

Pattaya Police reported finding sachets of crystal meth and ketamine scattered in the room. They suspect that the victim might have been in a drug-induced frenzy, leading to her fatal self-harm. However, the investigation is ongoing, and no conclusions have been made yet.
