Dutch Teenager Found Dead

A tragic incident occurred when an 18-year-old Dutch tourist, who had gone missing while hiking in the Hat Noppharat Thara Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park, was found lifeless after a grueling 16-hour search that covered 3.7 kilometers.

The young man, identified only as Mr. Tim, had been exploring the Ngon Nak (Naga Crest) Mountain trails with his family on Wednesday, July 31st, according to Mr. Yutthaphong Damsrisuk, head of the national park. During the hike, Mr. Tim disappeared after his parents left to search for drinking water. Despite their attempts to reach him via mobile phone, they were unsuccessful, prompting them to seek help from park staff.

Tragically, at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, August 1st, Mr. Tim’s body was found wedged beneath the Ngon Nak (Naga Crest) Rock, a formation that stands 450 meters above the plain area and about 70 meters higher than Ngon Nak Hill, located 3.7 kilometers from the national park station.

The recovery operation was challenging and took at least three hours due to the difficult terrain. As of now, Mr. Tim’s parents, still in deep grief, have been unable to provide further details to the authorities. Medical professionals are currently investigating the cause of his death.
