During the early hours of Monday, February 26th, a crackdown was conducted on an entertainment venue named “The Moonlight” situated on Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya, led by Banglamung district chief Mr. Weekit Manarojkit.
The operation was prompted by reports indicating that despite a closure mandate issued by the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) in December 2020 for a five-year period, the venue was operating unlawfully. The closure instruction was a result of the venue allegedly allowing individuals under the age of 20 to enter and repeatedly violating previous closure orders.
Upon receiving information about the venue’s illicit activities, Mr. Weekit oversaw an investigation that confirmed the venue’s unauthorized operation, where customers were being served despite the NCPO’s explicit directive.
Subsequently, the unidentified owner of “The Moonlight” was charged with offenses including running an entertainment establishment without the necessary permit, selling alcoholic beverages without a valid license, serving alcohol outside legally permitted hours, and breaching the NCPO’s closure decree.
