A Bolt driver in Pattaya, Thailand, contacted a news agency after a foreign man refused to pay his transportation fare and physically assaulted him by biting him, resulting in a cut lip. The incident took place in the early morning of Sunday, January 28.
Weeraphon, the Bolt driver, was visited by reporters from Channel 7 in the hospital where he was being treated for bite marks, scratches on his stomach, back, and right arm, and a cut lip. His right eye was covered, and he had a shield for protection.
According to Weeraphon’s account, he picked up the foreign passenger from Soi Buakhao, and the destination was a house in Soi Tung Klom-Tarn Man 27 in the Bang Lamung district of Pattaya. Upon reaching the southern Pattaya area, the passenger requested a stop to use the restroom. However, the foreigner walked away from Weeraphon and left the scene with a motorcycle rider, whose identity (whether a local motorcycle taxi rider or app-based rider) is uncertain.
Weeraphon followed the foreign man and the motorcycle.
