Starbucks (Thailand) has recently announced that it will be implementing a price increase for its drinks, starting from January 4, 2024. The price adjustment of 5 baht will be applied across all channels, including in-store purchases and online orders through platforms like Lineman and Grab. The reason provided for this increase is the rise in production costs that Starbucks has been experiencing.
In their statement, Starbucks explained that this price adjustment became necessary due to the current economic situation, with operating expenses and management costs steadily rising. However, the company aims to maintain consistency in its overall costs without negatively impacting its customers’ experience.
It’s important to note that this price increase will only apply to beverages. Other items such as snacks, coffee beans, bottled drinks, drinkware, syrup, whipped cream, and various other products will retain their original prices. Starbucks expressed their apologies for any inconvenience this may cause and reiterated their commitment to providing customers with an exceptional Starbucks experience.
Starbucks made its entry into the Thai market back in July 1998, with the opening of its first coffeehouse at Central Chidlom. Since then, Starbucks Thailand has expanded, aiming to have 800 outlets in the country by 2030. Currently, they operate 465 stores with over 4,300 employees.
