Motorists in Pattaya can now use U-turn points on Sukhumvit Road after they were reopened on January 3. These U-turn points had been temporarily closed during the New Year festivities as part of measures to manage traffic and ensure public safety during the Pattaya Countdown 2024 festival and other events.
The closure was deemed necessary to prevent congestion and accidents, given the influx of tourists into the city to celebrate the New Year. Traffic police and volunteers were deployed to regulate traffic and assist motorists during this period.
While the U-turn points are now accessible, city officials have advised motorists to drive carefully and be aware of barriers and blockages that still exist at certain construction sites along Sukhumvit Road and within the town. The construction work is part of the city’s development plan and will be completed soon.
