A couple in Uthai Thani filed a police report against a lottery agent after they claim the agent neglected to send them five winning online lottery tickets worth a total of 30 million baht.
The vendor said he couldn’t get in touch with the purchaser on the day of the purchase to mail the tickets.
On Tuesday, attorney Kerdphol Kaewkerd said he was sure the tickets belonged to his clients and that he would take action to get them back on Wednesday.
On Monday, Somkiart Liamsuwan, 60, and his wife Nareerat Punpamorn, 37, of tambon Nong Krathum in Thap Than district of Uthai Thani, provided Talukdu police in Thap Than district with proof of their purchase of the tickets.
Chat conversations between Mr. Somkiart and a representative of the Heng Heng lottery Facebook group made up the proof.
After they both paid respects to a well-known monk’s statue and prayed for good fortune and lucky numbers for the lottery drawing on October 1st, Ms. Nareerat claimed her husband contacted the Facebook page to purchase lottery tickets on September 23.
Then, for a total of 720 Baht, her husband bought five lottery tickets from this Facebook page, all of which had the same winning number: 7272702. According to Ms. Nareerat, payment was expected when the customer received their tickets.
The first-place prize for the five winning tickets was 30 million baht. She got in touch with the lottery page right away, but the agent claimed he was unable to get in touch with the buyer.
It was his first time purchasing lottery tickets online, according to Mr. Somkiart. He acknowledged putting in the order on September 23.
The vendor responded to his chat message by requesting him to confirm his phone number so they could get in touch. On September 25, he confirmed it in his response with a “like” sticker. Then he awaited the delivery of his tickets, but they never did.
His wife claimed that he never got a call from the seller.
