A wicked Peeping Tom was detained today in Nonthaburi province for secretly filming in a men’s toilet at a petrol station. The voyeur suspect claimed he was inspired to do the act while scrolling through Twitter. Deputy Inspector Uttith Arsanok of Chaiyapruek Police Station made the arrest.
The victim took the officers to the location, which was a men’s lavatory at the back of the gas station. Pitchayaphak, the suspected culprit who was caught photographing the victim, was also present. Officers discovered several photographs of guys as well as secretly recorded movies from multiple gas stations on Pitchayaphak’s iPhone. The victim detained Pitchayaphak and gave him instructions to delete the secretly recorded clips.
During the interrogation, the Peeping Tom admitted to being self-employed in the import transportation industry. He went to the restroom at the gas station, and the victim entered the adjacent room while he was there. Pitchayaphak, who was perusing Twitter and felt excited, decided to surreptitiously video the victim for his own entertainment.
He promptly removed the video after he was caught and confirmed his involvement. He stated that this was his first offense and that he had never previously videotaped anyone. The Peeping Tom further stated that he did not distribute the recordings on social media and that they were just kept for personal use.
Pitchayaphak admitted to the offense and was charged with public nuisance. Before being released, the Peeping Tom was fined 5,000 baht and ordered to delete any covertly recorded photographs and recordings.
