A foul odor emanating from a property in Pattaya’s Bang Lamung district led to the discovery of a dead corpse inside.
According to SiamRath, people in Pattaya reported a bad odor coming from a foreign man’s home. In response, they requested the assistance of a rescue crew at midnight yesterday. The open fence surrounded the single-story house.
In the garage, rescuers discovered three motorcycles and one Chopper motorcycle. Officers then raced into the residence, where they discovered the death of a foreign national, Tim Juhani Muhonen, 54, of Finland.
The rescue squad saw that the dead Finnish man’s body had begun to deteriorate and that the odor had begun to permeate outside the premises.
There were no clear symptoms of physical trauma or signs of a struggle.
Furthermore, no evidence of theft or forced entry was found. Muhonen had most likely died seven days before his finding, according to the rescue team’s estimates.
Residents told officers that Muhonen lived alone in the residence and spent his time in the garage servicing or fiddling with his motorcycles.
Locals said a Thai woman paid him a visit about five to six days before his finding. They heard the woman ask the Finnish man to leave the door open and signal that she would return later. They saw that the Finnish man hadn’t left the house since that day.
The cause of his death had not been determined, however, it has been suggested that the Finnish guy died as a result of congenital disorders. The deceased has been taken to Bang Lamung Hospital for an autopsy.
