A Thai couple was apprehended by Banglamung Police for smuggling illegal substances through the Chonburi region.
Anuchit “Games” Chitchikun, 26, and Kanokporn “Nat” Kaewrurit, 23, were apprehended by Banglamung Police today (May 28) on suspicion of being part of a significant drug agent network that mostly operated in the provinces of Chonburi, Bangkok, and Nonthaburi.
708 grams of ice (crystal meth), 940 grams of ketamine, 285 ecstasy tablets, 8 sachets of rainbow-colored Happy Water, and one automobile were all taken from the pair by the police.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Kumpol Leelapraporn, Commander of the Chonburi Provincial Police, gave urgent orders to all police officers in Chonburi to eradicate all forms of illegal activities, in accordance with the policy of the Royal Thai Police, according to Pol. Col. Navin Sinthurat, Chief of Police of the Banglamung Police Station, who spoke at today’s press conference.
He said that Mr. Anuchit and Ms. Kanokporn were drug mules for an unnamed powerful agent with the handle “Hin”.
The police had agreed to meet Hin after placing an order for 100 grams of ice from him valued 22,000 baht, but when they arrived, the couple had already arrived with the drugs and were attempting to flee in their car.
The authorities eventually caught the couple in Nonthaburi province after a fast-paced automobile chase.
Initially, the two suspects admitted that they received orders from Hin using an app called “Ramruay 168 (Rich).” They served as couriers for the collection and distribution of drugs, receiving 2,000 Baht each time for their services. As a result, the police have accused them of jointly distributing Category 1 narcotics (ice and methamphetamine) as well as substances that impair the nervous system and mind (ketamine). The Taling Chan public prosecutor’s office in Bangkok will receive the matter for additional legal processes.
