An unidentified man in Pattaya who had earlier offered to join him for a drink knifed a 48-year-old bottle collector. The incident was reported to the Sawang Boriboon rescuers yesterday around 10:30 p.m. The rescuers discovered Banyat Pholdee, the injured man, who had a serious back injury from a chopping knife.
In the midst of Soi Nongprue 3 in the Nongprue sub-district of Banglamung district, Banyat and his sister were found. Banyat claimed that he and his sister were making their way to a hospital for treatment when he stopped and sought medical help because he could no longer take the pain.
Banyat described how he, his sister, and his brother-in-law had gone fishing at a canal on Soi Nongprue 3 when the incident occurred. A tall, dark-skinned Thai man with a shaven head approached them and requested to join them in drinking while they were enjoying a few beers after they were finished.
The unidentified individual even volunteered to pay some of the cost of extra drinks. Banyat’s sister and brother-in-law left to get more booze after the initial supply ran out. The unidentified man suddenly became irritated for no apparent reason while they were gone, and hit Banyat from behind with a chopping knife before running from the scene. On Banyat’s back, the assault created a significant cut.
Rescuers from Sawang Boriboon hurried Banyat to a nearby hospital for treatment. The suspect’s identity is currently being sought by Pattaya Police.
