Three public holidays are coming up in the near future. Immigration as well as all other government agencies will be closed. Coronation Day is on Thursday, May 4, and Friday, May 5, is a “bridge” day or continuation to make it a four-day weekend. In order to promote domestic travel in the post-Covid era, the government approved a number of extras last year.
Immigration offices across the country reopen at 08.30 am on Monday, May 8, following the holidays on May 4 and May 5. The Royal Plowing Ceremony is on May 17th, which is another national holiday this month. That is yet another immigration detention.
