According to a coroner’s report, US music artist Aaron Carter inadvertently drowned in his bathtub as a result of drugs he had ingested.
Carter, 34, the younger brother of Nick Carter of the Backstreet Boys, was discovered dead on November 5 at his Lancaster, California, home.
His death was caused by drowning, as determined by the autopsy, as a result of the sedatives and gas he had consumed.
He had alprazolam in his system, which is frequently marketed under the trade name Xanax.
Difluoroethane in compressed form was also found. It is described as a “gas commonly used as a propellant in air spray cleaners” that “can induce feelings of euphoria when inhaled” in the report.
According to the Associated Press, Carter was last seen alive when police went to his house in the early hours of November 4. According to a police report that was part of the autopsy results, they were checking on him after they saw him on an Instagram live stream using an inhalant.
Carter had requested that the police leave. According to the police report, he missed a scheduled appointment with a drug counselor later that day.
The next day, a woman who appeared to be a housekeeper came to Carter’s house and offered him coffee. When there was no reaction, she opened the door and discovered him unconscious in a bathtub with jets still flowing.
He was pronounced dead at the site by the paramedics.
Investigators discovered prescription bottles and cans of an electronic duster that the man had been breathing.

On a number of tours and performances, Carter began his career as the boy band Backstreet Boys’ opening act.
Millions of copies of his four albums, the first of which was released when he was just nine years old, were sold during the late 1990s and early 2000s.
In 2000, Aaron’s Party (Come Get It), his second album, was released and quickly achieved triple platinum status. He toured with Britney Spears on the Oops!… I Did It Again tour after the release of the album.
Carter began rapping as he got older and also made Broadway musical and Dancing With The Stars appearances.
He struggled with many things, visiting rehab multiple times, and declaring bankruptcy in 2013 due to massive debt, a large portion of which was tax-related.
Additionally, he had numerous encounters with law enforcement for drug possession and dangerous driving.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Carter entered treatment last year in an effort to win custody of his son Prince, who was born in 2021.
Following his passing, many people paid tribute to Carter, including celebrities Paris Hilton, Tyler Hilton, Hilary Duff, and the bands New Kids on the Block and *NSYNC.
