Police fatally shoot man after finding child injured and second man dead at home

Police shot a man dead at a home in Milton Keynes after finding another man dead and a young child seriously injured.

The incident happened after officers forced their way into a property in Denmead, Two Mile Ash, at about 9.40am on Saturday after a witness sounded the alarm.

Inside they found a man in his 30s who was later confirmed dead, as well as the child who had serious injuries.

Officers came across another man in his 20s inside the property and it is understood they first deployed a Taser at him, before firing gun shots.

First aid was immediately given to him and ambulance crews treated him but he was pronounced dead at the scene, Thames Valley Police said.

At this early stage of the investigation, it is understood that officers deployed Taser, before shots were fired at the man. Immediate first aid was deployed and ambulance crews treated the man in his twenties, but sadly he was later pronounced dead at the scene.A mandatory referral has been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) and they have launched an independent investigation.The young child was taken from the property and was taken to hospital with serious injuries, where they remain.The man in his thirties was sadly also confirmed dead at the scene.The next of kin of both men have been informed.A scene watch is in place around the address in Denmead and is likely to be in place for a number of days.Assistant Chief Constable Christian Bunt, said: ???What has happened this morning can only be described as absolutley tragic and will no doubt have an impact on the community.???Our thoughts are with those who have been impacted by this incident. ???Our Major Crime Unit are working closely with the IOPC to understand exactly what has happened. ???At this stage no one else is being sought in relation to this investigation and we are seeking to support everyone involved.???Members of the community will see an increased police presence. Thames Valley Police has launched an investigation into the incident, making a mandatory referral to to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC).

The young child was rushed to hospital with serious injuries where they remain.

Police said the dead men’s next of kin had been notified, and that officers were likely to remain on watch outside the property for several days.

The force said its investigation was ‘at a very early stage and no further information can be provided at this time’.

‘Our thoughts are with all those affected by this tragic incident,’ the IOPC statement added.
