Good News as Pattaya checkpoints are due to end May 5

Pattaya checkpoints

Finally some good news for people wanting to travel freely in and out of the city. Pattaya checkpoints will be no more from May the 5th.

This is actually two days earlier than expected as the city has had almost two weeks without any confirmed infections.

On Mat 1st, Mayor Sonthaya Kunplome had said that all the 8 checkpoints across the city would be closed on May the 5th.

The checkpoints were installed on April the 16th largely due to a spike in the Covid-19cases, however, Pattaya has now recorded 13 days with any confirmed cases.

So looks like good things are coming, let us just hope now that the city can completely reopen at some point… Fingers crossed
