Pattaya police hunting the HOODED THIEVES

HOODED THIEVES

Local Pattaya news suggested that the same men, who have been terrorizing the city committing snatch theft, are continuing their spree.

At 4.30 am on Tuesday Pol Maj Thanin Kanphai and a contingent of tourist police went to Soi Marine Yen Sabai where a 37-year-old Uzbekistan woman had reported a snatch theft.

Vsola V. had been walking back to her hotel when her black shoulder bag was ripped from her grasp.

Two men wearing cold-weather hoodies raced off on a motorcycle into the night leaving the victim in a state of shock.

Many tourists – particularly Russians with families – have been targeted in recent weeks in similar thefts.

The media suggested that the same men were responsible.

This comes after the deputy mayor of Pattaya called tourism officials and police to a meeting after a German TV program exposed Thailand as a dangerous place for tourists full of scams.

Action was promised with more officers set to patrol from 10 pm to 4 am.
