40-Year-Old Thai Woman Drowns Near Pattaya Beach After Drinking Alcohol
PATTAYA – A 40-year-old Thai woman tragically drowned while swimming near Pattaya Beach on Saturday, March 8th, after consuming alcohol.
Pattaya City Police received a report of the incident at 10:06 A.M. near Pattaya Walking Street. Rescue divers, police, and local news teams arrived at the scene, where divers spent approximately 30 minutes searching before recovering the body of the victim, identified as Ms. Natthakan, 40, from Nakhon Ratchasima. Authorities found no signs of foul play.
According to her unidentified friends, they all worked at the same bar and decided to relax at the beach after their shift by drinking alcohol. Ms. Natthakan later went swimming but disappeared in the water. Despite their attempts to get help, she was found too late.
Sawang Boriboon Rescue Teams warned the public about the dangers of swimming after drinking alcohol, emphasizing that it can be deadly. They also noted that Ms. Natthakan entered the water in an area not designated for swimming and without lifeguards, making the situation even more hazardous.
Officials urge beachgoers to avoid alcohol before swimming and to stay within designated swimming zones for their safety.
