1 killed, 2 hurt after car crashes into shop in east Pattaya

One man died at the scene of the overnight crash at the Ban Na junction in Huay Yai east Pattaya. The Laotian driver and a passenger were injured in the accident.

One man was killed and two Laotians injured when their car crashed into a store in Huay Yai district, east Pattaya.

Wirat Yodaoi, 47, died at the scene of the overnight April 2 crash at the Ban Na junction in Moo 5 village. Laotian Souliya Thongbai, the 47-year-old driver of the Nissan March, suffered a broken arm and was knocked unconscious.

Backseat passenger Bonpieng Piengjan of Laos, 25, suffered minor injuries. They were treated at a nearby hospital.

Police estimated at the Nissan March was traveling at high speed and overshot the curve, slamming into a paint shop. The car was destroyed. The dead man was not wearing a seat belt.

Bonpieng said the three were headed back to Khao Maikaew from a pub in Pattaya. She was sleeping and the crash woke her up.
