Young woman’s life taken in baht bus collision

A horrible catastrophe occurred in the heart of Pattaya in the early hours of yesterday morning, taking a young life. An awful head-on incident between a baht bus and a motorbike disrupted the tranquillity of Pattaya-Naklua Road about 2.30am, casting a gloomy shadow over the city.
Bang Lamung Police rushed to the scene of the collision at the entrance of Soi 15/1, in the Naklua sub-district of Bang Lamung district, alongside Sawang Boriboon rescue workers. Jeerawan Permsin, a local 19-year-old girl, was the victim of this awful incident, and her lifeless body lay at the accident scene. Despite the rescuers’ best attempts, her injuries proved deadly, and they were unable to save her.

The nature of the disaster was revealed by two vehicles on the scene: a red Honda PCX motorcycle with a heavily damaged front end and a baht bus with yellow license plates issued in Chon Buri province. The significant vehicle damage created a disturbing picture of the occurrence that had resulted in the young victim’s untimely death.
The driver of the baht bus, Ava Phakaew, 35, was waiting to give his evidence, overcome by the gravity of the occurrence. He explained that he was trying to overtake a pickup truck in front of him as he drove from the Dolphin Roundabout to Naklua Market. Unfortunately, he missed Jeerawan riding her motorcycle down the lane.
