Quotes from Humphries:
“After the first five legs, I felt deflated and tired. I just didn’t feel like the real Luke Humphries tonight. But I told myself to stick in there and work hard. It was a great performance in the last few legs.”
Vintage Wade Dominates:
Wade delivered a vintage performance, averaging 100.30 and hitting 13 180s to reach his ninth World Matchplay semi-final. Initially the underdog, Wade took control with his trademark finishing under pressure, denying Smith a comeback.
Quotes from Wade:
“I feel really good after that. It was a great game, and I’m glad I played a little bit better than Ross. My scoring was good, and I know I can play a lot better.”
Smith started strong, averaging 114 in the first five legs for a 3-2 lead. However, Wade’s consistent finishing, including checkouts of 120 and 121, put him ahead. Despite Smith’s continued efforts, Wade sealed the match by winning the final three legs.
