A woman was photographed hanging out the window of a moving car holding an AK49 assault rifle at an illegal drag race in the US.
The shocking picture was shared by San Francisco Police Department’s Traffic Safety team on Thursday.
The force said that they had seized the pictured vehicle, after working up a case when the photo was taken last month.
A spokesman said the gun-wielding lady was snapped by an occupant of another vehicle at “an illegal exhibition of speed event” in the Barneveld and McKinnon area of the city on 11th of July.
The woman wasn’t named by the force as the incident remains under investigation.
Alongside the shocking image, police also shared another snap that appeared to show the same vehicle being towed away from the scene with a motorcade of police on bikes.

“Due to the fact that this is an open [and] active investigation we cannot comment further,” police spokesperson Adam Lobsinger told SF Gate.
Police said they couldn’t comment on whether any arrests were made, or whether the woman fired any shots.
The force’s tweet read: “On 7/11/2021, During an illegal exhibition of speed event at Barneveld & McKinnon, a passenger leaned out of a Cadi holding an AK47;
“SFPD Traffic Company personnel worked up a case, and seized this particular vehicle today.”
The incident is being investigated by the SFPD Stunt Driving Response Unit and the SFPD Traffic Company
Firearm-related violence in the city during the first six months of the year has increased by 84% when compared with data for 2020, with more fatal and non-fatal shootings, according to the force’s mid-year report.
“We’re almost double where we were in the last two years, and that is a huge concern,” San Francisco police Chief Bill Scott told reporters in July.
“They were just filming a remake of the Matrix Reloaded,” a social media user jested in response to the force’s tweet.
