Weekend Premier League Results: Away Day Smiles!

Away Day Premier League Specials As Jamie Vardy Catches Leicester Goal Legend Gary Lineker

By: Marc Gingell

Three Premier League games took place on Saturday and Burnley, Leicester, and Crystal Palace all join Friday night winners Liverpool as away day winners.

  • Liverpool left it late at Southampton where Mo Salah scored a superb six second special.
  • Burnley almost guaranteed Premier League safety at Bournemouth. Ashley Barnes scored an own goal after four minutes but made amends by scoring Burnley’s third after 56 minutes.
  • Leicester were far too strong for Huddersfield where Jamie Vardy scored after 48 minutes to join Gary Lineker on 103 Leicester goals. That put them joint 6th on Leicester’s all-time goal scoring charts. On 84 minutes he made the 6th spot his own after converting a penalty. Gary has been relegated to 7th.
  • Crystal Palace must now be safe for another season thanks to yet another penalty from Luka Milivojevic. Palace’s penalty king has now converted 10 this season which is 13% of the 76 total premier league penalties this season.
