This year, as it grows its network and launches new routes, the airline aims to add more A330 aircraft to its fleet.Additionally, the carrier claimed that the A330 improves its operating efficiency and enables it to deliver “positive flight experiences at reasonable fares” by offering the airline superior fuel efficiency and performance.

Operational expansion
Vietjet has lofty goals for the year 2023, including expanding from 78 to 87 aircraft and modernizing its fleet of Airbus A330 and A321 aircraft for improved operational efficiencies. The airline, however, has set a goal of growing its passenger base by 25% this year.
Additionally, the airline expects to improve its existing 40% market share of Vietnam’s domestic market by transporting an extra five million passengers this year. Just last month, the airline added three brand-new Airbus A321neo aircraft to its fleet, and later this year, it will add three more A330s.
The airline is still waiting on the delivery of a sizable number of narrowbody aircraft from both Airbus and Boeing. The airline has placed orders for 20 Airbus A321XLRs and 91 Airbus A321neos. Vietjet has placed orders for 50 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft and 100 larger Boeing 737 MAX 8-200 aircraft on the Boeing side of the order book. Vietjet is undoubtedly an airline with ambition, and it will be interesting to see how the career performs in the future, given the airline’s existing operations and its expansion strategy.
