On February 27, 2024, around 00:05, the Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan Foundation’s rescue workers responded to a traffic collision at the entrance of Soi Naklua 14 on Pattaya-Naklua Road in Chonburi.
When they arrived, the emergency responders found three vehicles involved in the collision: a pickup truck, a motorbike, and a sidecar motorbike. The accident had scattered various items across the road.
Three individuals were injured as a result of the collision. Mr. Thanapat, a 24-year-old motorbike driver, sustained severe injuries. Additionally, Mrs. Sukanya (51) and Ms. Suwannee (37) suffered minor injuries, such as burns and abrasions. A witness named Mr. Somchai reported that a white Toyota pickup truck, driven by Mr. Phyo Phyo, a 30-year-old Myanmar national, had reversed into Mr. Thanapat’s motorcycle. This initial impact caused the pickup truck to veer out of control and collide with a parked sidecar motorbike, which was selling fried meatballs, leading to hot oil spilling onto Mrs. Sukanya.
Banglamung police conducted an initial investigation at the scene. Subsequently, Mr. Phyo was taken into custody and moved to the Banglamung Police Station for further legal procedures. All the injured individuals were taken to Banglamung Hospital for medical treatment.
