Uzi gun shipped from Songkhla to Chiang Rai

The Crime Suppression Division and Chiang Rai police seized an Uzi gun shipped via a private parcel-post service from Song Khla to the northern province.

After the CSD became concerned about the true identity of the sender, Chiang Rai police seized the parcel and found a 9mm Uzi gun inside.

The parcel was shipped through Kerry Express to a recipient addressed as Joi Thanlar in Moo 5 village in Tambon Koh Chang in Mae Sai district. The parcel sender was identified as Weth Wanphen who claimed his address as PP Tactics shop, which is owned by Burin Promchua, 38.

It was Burin who filed a complaint with the CSD office in Songkhla after Kerry Express called to inform him that the parcel could not be delivered because the recipient could not be contacted.

Burin told police that he was puzzled by the call, as he had not shipped any parcels to Chiang Rai.

Chiang Rai police found that the addressed recipient’s house was deserted and no one had lived there for a long time.
