On July 15, Pattaya city authorities acted quickly to shut down a beach umbrella rental business on North Pattaya Beach after receiving multiple complaints from tourists. Visitors said that the owner of the firm participated in unwanted tactics, such as shooing clients out of parking spaces and refusing service, which led to annoyance and spoiled vacations.
The city hall investigating team found that the shop owner had in fact broken Pattaya City laws. The owner specifically violated Articles 30 and 31, which forbid soliciting, enticing, harassing, or speaking inappropriately to beachgoers or visitors, respectively.
Article 30 forbids businesses from reserving public parking places exclusively for their clients. The beach umbrella rental service’s activities will be put on hold for 15 days starting on Monday, July 17, according to a directive from Pattaya city officials. The purpose of this policy is to discourage similar offenses in the future.
Visitors are invited to file any additional concerns with the complaints office since the Pattaya Municipality is still dedicated to defending the rights and satisfaction of every traveler.
