On Thursday, August 17th, an Arabian tourist was killed after his high-powered motorcycle crashed with another on Sukhumvit Road in Pattaya about midnight. Two more persons were critically hurt.
At midnight tonight, Pol Lt. Akarapong Saenputawong, the duty officer at the Pattaya police station, got a report of the accident.
Along with Sawang Boriboon emergency responders and medical workers from Banglamung Hospital, he rushed to the accident scene on Sukhumvit Road inbound to Sattahip, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.
They discovered a severely damaged black Honda Wave 110 motorcycle on the road. Mr. Boontai Vot, a 25-year-old Cambodian national, was confirmed as the rider. He had major fractures in both of his legs and was in critical condition.
Another two wounded guys lay some 100 meters distant from Mr. Boontai, both Arabian nationals whose exact place of origin was unknown.
One of them had sadly died in the collision, while the other had suffered significant injuries. Near them, a wrecked red Honda CBR 650 large bike was uncovered. Police did not reveal the identify of either man to the press.
The deceased and the two survivors were transported to a local hospital by emergency personnel. Pol. Lt. Akarapong added that he will check the accident’s security camera footage and notify the deceased’s consulate.
On August 16th, another accident occurred when a Middle Eastern man smashed his motorcycle into a power pole in Pattaya. Fortunately, the man just received minor scrapes on his arms as a result of the event.
At the time of reporting, he was discussing reimbursement for the damage he caused to a local shop.
