Ilia Topuria has responded to Max Holloway’s impressive victory at UFC 300 with a bold statement, revealing that he’ll only face ‘Blessed’ for the featherweight title under certain conditions.
After securing a dramatic last-second knockout against Justin Gaethje and donning the BMF championship belt, Holloway called out both featherweight champion Topuria and lightweight champion Islam Makhachev during his post-fight interview with Joe Rogan.
Responding to Holloway’s callout on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Topuria expressed mixed feelings about the performance: “The last 10 seconds were amazing, but overall, I wasn’t impressed. I didn’t see any technique, strategy, or power. It looked more like a bar fight than a professional bout.”
Topuria, known as the featherweight king, hinted at his terms for a potential bout with Holloway: “I was hoping Holloway would win, but under the right circumstances, I’ll consider facing him for the title. It’s not just about the fight; it’s about the quality of the match.”
With both fighters showcasing their skills and passion, fans can only hope that the conditions are met for a thrilling featherweight title showdown in the near future.
