A Thai man has apparently been caught red-handed by lifeguards stealing a foreigner’s bag containing cash, a mobile phone and wallet at Karon Beach yesterday.
The female tourist was near the Tourist Assistance Centre at the time.
According to the Karon Police report, the suspect is 24-year-old Nattapon Chaichana from Songkhla. Saran Sangkaew, 25, a Karon lifeguard from Pattani, said he saw the incident at around 5.30pm.
Police said they caught Nattapon with two mobile phones, Bt890 in cash, a wallet and three smaller bags. Nattapon denies the charge of theft.
