Thai man jailed in Malaysia for trying to BRIBE police officer

A 30-year-old Thai man has been arrested and jailed for seven days after attempting to bribe a member of General Operations Force (GOF) Ninth Battalion in Malaysia.

The suspect, another man and two Thai women, all aged between 28 and 30, were caught in possession of a stolen motorcycle, two stolen cars, a cloned car and 3.4 grammes of crystal meth.

The Thai man must have thought he was still in his home country when he offered almost US$400 to the arresting officer in the belief he would be allowed to walk away.

He was immediately taken into custody and charged.
