A stabbing suspect handcuffed to a hospital bed used a pair of scissors to attack a nurse and then lunged at a cop.
Police body cam footage captured the moment that Luis Medina, 30, suddenly grabbed scissors with his left hand while his right hand was cuffed, and hit the nurse in her head with them.
As the nurse runs out of the hospital room, Medina jumps out of the bed despite the wrist cuff and tries to go for the cop, the video obtained by the New York Post shows.
Medina slips and falls to the ground, at which point the cop uses a Taser on him and flees the room for backup.
Cops arrested Medina around 11.30am on Saturday after he allegedly stabbed a 41-year-old woman several times in a domestic dispute at East Gun Hill Road in New York City’s Bronx neighborhood. The woman was taken to Saint Barnabas Hospital in serious but stable condition, cops said.
Meanwhile, Medina was transported to Bronx Hospital with minor injuries, according to the New York Police Department.
The 26-year-old nurse whom he attacked at the hospital did not suffer serious injuries.
Medina faces multiple assault charges and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
