Two 14-year-old Thai high school students were praised for their honesty after returning a lost wallet, containing cash and important documents, to Pattaya police.
Noppadol and Pattharaphon, both 14 and students from Nern Plubwan School and Wat Sutthawas School, went to Pattaya Police Station to report finding a wallet near Central shopping mall in Pattaya.
The boys explained that while walking near the shopping center with an older sibling, they noticed a wallet placed on top of an ice bucket. Upon checking, they discovered it contained a large sum of cash and identification documents. Without hesitation, they decided to hand it over to the authorities to help locate the owner.
In an interview with The Pattaya News, the students shared they were happy to assist the police and hoped the wallet’s owner would come to claim it soon.
Police found that the luxury-brand wallet contained 3,640 Thai baht, 71 Chinese yuan, and identification documents belonging to a Chinese tourist. Authorities are currently waiting for the owner to retrieve their belongings.
The boys’ actions have earned widespread praise on social media, with many netizens applauding their honesty.
